Sláinte FAQ

Everything you might want to ask.

Sláinte is a food and supplement information platform built around scanning, scoring, explanation and comparison. It is not a medical service, brands cannot pay for a better score, and every score comes with the reasoning behind it.

What is Sláinte?

Sláinte is a food and supplement information platform designed to help people understand products through scanning, scoring, explanation and comparison.

What is the Sláinte Score?

The Sláinte Score is a 0 to 100 score designed to summarise relevant product information.

Does Sláinte scan the product?

Yes. The product experience is designed around scanning packaged food and supplement products.

Does Sláinte tell me what to buy?

Sláinte can highlight better scoring comparable products, but it does not make medical or personalised dietary decisions for you.

Is Sláinte a medical service?

No. Sláinte provides consumer information and product comparisons.

How does Sláinte decide a score?

See the Sláinte Score Methodology page for the scoring framework, data inputs and category specific rules.

Can brands pay for a better score?

No. Paid placement must never influence a product's Sláinte Score. If sponsored placements are introduced, they will be clearly labelled and separated from scoring.

How often are product scores updated?

Scores are updated when relevant product information changes or when Sláinte updates its methodology. Each product page shows a last checked date.

Can I request a product?

Yes. A product request flow will be available once the product database supports it.
